Work it: Weekly Weigh-in

I feel like my life has been turned upside down! In good ways, and in not-so-good ways. One good way: I moved this weekend! I'm now living downtown in a brand-new building with someone very close to my heart: my BF!!

I'll post pics of the new place soon.

What this move will mean for my healthy eating and exercising habits? Probably very little will change. We have such busy schedules during the week, that we'll probably eat on our own a lot. Or, if we eat together, we can always do things a little differently, if we choose. For example, since we ate out a lot this weekend because our kitchen stuff is packed away (One not-so-good-way my life was turned upside down in the past few days! I tried to make good choices...but temptation reared its ugly head several times. Blargh.), we're just doing sandwiches for dinner tonight. I plan to have carrots and fruit on the side, but there are potato chips if he wants them.

Hate that boys can eat more calories than girls. Aarrgh!

But back to my weekly weigh-in, which took place last Friday, but wasn't documented until today.

Let's have another sound effect for this post: Harumph!

Date: 5/13/11
Weight: 224
Change: +2
Starting weight: 275

I had a feeling that getting down to 222 was a fluke (Uh...hello? I had mono! Or some kind of sickness.). But I also know that traveling, attending a bridal shower and a bachelorette party, packing, volunteering...all this lead to a couple weeks of eating poorly.

My workouts were good, however! For the most part I worked out four times a week.

My goal for this week, honestly, was to just get through it! I have a couple short work trips, plus loads of unpacking and a little moving still to do. I want to prepare more meals at home this week, though, for budget reasons and I know that will help my waistline too.

When life is topsy-turvy and time runs through your hands, what do you do to make sure you eat well? Any tips on foods to eat "on-the-go?"

  1. Good luck with all the moving madness -- having everything packed away for days/weeks is the worst. Glad you're getting to live with your lovey. :)
