It seems like, lately, all my posts are weigh-ins! I need to get on the ball with writing about more than just my weight loss, or lack thereof!
Yeah, this week I'm putting up a big ol' goose egg. Bummer! I will say, though, after returning from Amal's wedding where I consumed far too many sweets...way, way too many sweets!...I'm pleased that I didn't gain any weight. If I had gotten to the gym to work out like I'd planned this week, I'm sure I would've lost a pound or two. Instead I was painting my old bedroom. It was actually a workout in itself, at least for my arms!

I will be thankful for small things, though. Like wearing pants that are a size 14!! I can't recall the last time I was a 14. Maybe middle school? Eek! That's terrible. It's fun to go into Lane Bryant and buy smaller and smaller sizes. Hopefully those small sizes will start translating into the sizes at more stores so I can get outta LB soon!
More small accomplishments? Losing inches! I haven't measured my inches since mid-April, but since then I've lost 2 inches in my waist, a 1/2 inch in my bust (yay! I don't want my boobies to go away!) and 1 inch in my thighs (thank you, squats).
So putting up a 0 for the week is annoying, but I feel good. I feel strong. And I'm ready to tackle the next week. At this point, that's how I'm approaching weight loss, week by week. This next week is a big one too. I have a birthday party for my dear friend Summer tomorrow where I will do my damnedest to eat healthfully and have just a small piece of cake. Sunday I'm taking my new Little Sister (from Big Brothers Big Sisters) to the zoo! Should be a fun time! And next week I have my evenings free for working out. Yay! Can't wait to get back into that. Then, it's Dominika's wedding on June 11! I'd really hoped to be down to 215 by then, but I think that was a bit ambitious. Now, I'm aiming for 220.
Do you prefer to look at the big picture when trying to lose weight? Or do you take it one week at a time?

CONGRATS on the inches lost & other non-scale victories!! Loving it. I always valued moving down a pants size more than movement on the scale.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! I loved it when I got to buy new clothes because I was down another size. That was a great feeling.
ReplyDeleteHooray for you! Sometimes no gain is a victory in itself. I've been sitting in a 16 for the past few years and I really need to crack through to the next smaller size. Congrats!
